Just a few photos of me goofing off while testing the flashes. Candid photos are the best; I actually like how I look more when I’m not posing. Shoot, it takes skill to be a model….I had sleepy eyes, not to be confused with dreamy eyes because that would be sexy which I was not, 80 percent of the time! Horrible. My boyfriend had to keep reminding me I needed to look at the technical aspect of the pictures, not which one I looked best in but I say if I look good then photo shop will do the rest right? Sadly, the answer is no…. so be prepared! muahah

Do you remember the first female celebrity you wanted to be? The one where, when you saw them for the first time, you couldn’t believe your eyes and thought you were seeing angels or let me be less psycho sounding and say, you were pretty much starstruck? We ordered the SB-400 flash unit for our Nikon and it arrived today! B&H is a good place to buy imaging products and they usually have the best deals. So we’ve been having fun with the flash unit and took tons of pictures…of my silly expressions mostly since we were using the 55-200 zoom lens. You can definitely see a difference between using the regular flash and the fill flash, I’ll post some pictures tomorrow. We haven’t shot any outdoors pics yet but rest assured we are soo on top of it…maybe at the beach this weekend!

Personally, I think pregnant women are the most extraordinary women in the world….ok, scratch that, I have to give that title to all the mothers out there but aside from dealing with all the other aspects of pregnancy, I just really admire pregnant women who still take the time to care about their appearance while they are big as a tent and moody as hell. Yeah, celebrities get it easy with all their stylists and assistants and such but I’ve seen normal woman waddling around who are just as rediculously beautiful and I can’t help but think being a chick magnet is just one of the perks of pregnancy; seriously, pregnant people get all the attention from other women! lol

I’m looking forward to this one because often times I need a little reminder that love and friendships are what is most important, especially around this time of the year, NOT a new white jacket…not a new white jacket..not a new white jacket and cashmere scarf. muahah

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Fleet Street
I hate horror and suspense flicks but I love Johnny Depp’s acting and it’s reminiscent of Edward Scissorhands albeit a bit darker and well, people burst out singing.

The Golden Compass
It just looks like a cool fairytale adventure movie and Nicole Kidman looks great in it so I’m all over that one!

Alvin and the Chipmunks
How can you not love Alvin and the Chipmunks? It has sentimental value too, who knew?! lol, my siblings and I would always watch it together as children and then there’s the fact that one of my brothers decided to name his kids after them, no joke…. my sister in law must have been drugged is my only conclusion. =P Elvan, Symaan, and…well, thank goodness he didn’t go there because it was getting a little rediculous…ahah Ivan and Winston came next, phew! Needless to say the antics of Alvin and the Chipmunks remind me very much of my own nephews in an exasperating but endearing way.

Two of my favorite things; Aaron standing by our tree!

Now that thanksgiving is over, it’s only a few short weeks until christmas arrives! Me and the boyfriend took his nephew with us to go shop for a christmas tree. I’ve never had a real tree at my house before because I’ve always had the silly notion that a grouchy bird or squirrel might come flying out at me when least expected. Also, my cousins had one many years ago but I swear it was only 4 feet at the most and had but a few branches on it…I really wasn’t all that impressed. But the one we settled on was an 8-9 foot noble fir which was very plump and symmetrical so that got me excited about bringing it home to decorate the good-looking shrub. =D

The Yang Brothers

I had previously mentioned (in this post) that me and the bf were looking into buying our first dslr and well, we went for it! $500 plus dollars so I guess you could say we are proud owners of our new “baby,” it’s goes everywhere we go. ahah

I’m slowly learning the ins and outs of how to use the camera to it’s full potential, damn, I hate reading lengthy manuals but what’s cool is we get free classes with the deal so I’m looking forward to getting some hands-on professional help which I’m sure will be very usual.

My first 2 subjects were my boyfriends nephews and let me tell you kids are not easy to persuade to ‘look pretty’ or in their case, handsome, but eventually with a little sweet talking and then a few idle threats, they warmed up to it! They even went to the bathroom to fix their own hair…very cute and not entirely unexpected since they’ve been raised around their vain uncle, aka my rockstar, aka the annoying boyfriend. haha! So anyways the bf had programed the camera setting on the mode I wanted but I forgot to turn the flash on…idiot me, ah well, with a little help from photo shop I’m pretty happy with how the pictures turned out and how darling are my bf’s nephews!!!

Let me start off by saying, I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving day! It’s a little sad for me this year since I’m away from home and spending time with my boyfriend but I guess that’s a choice I’ve made willingly and like he said to me once, “You miss them now but if you were back home you’d miss me even more” which is mostly true but not all…lol, I love being around me family!

What I am thankful for this year

I am most thankful that everyone I know and love are in good health, that I am here with the man I love and that we are going strong as ever, and that we were able to capture these holiday moments with our new Nikon D40, whooohoo!
