Welcome to Anime Expo 2007

Damn, the things we do for family! Looking like early Halloween party goers, we had to wait in line for FIVE hours to get in the first day of the event but we finally made it in after much deliberation (”forget this” was said quiet a few times within the five hours) and got our four day pass-hardcore baby!
June 29-July 1, 2007
It was quite an experience! I don’t know if it was worth the-longest-wait-of-my-life-to-date but I couldn’t let my sister (who got me into anime and is a zealous fangirl) down since we rarely take vacations together and since she went specifically for Anime Expo. =) Some of the people dressed up were so freakin creative; it was cool to see how far they would got to become a character. My sister cosplayed as Tifa from Final Fantasy, the cutest geek there!!
It was great taking pics of people who took the time to pose. Eventually even my sister looked like she could kick some butt, well, in pictures anyways. ahah. A LOT of pictures so if you’re a fangirl or fanboy, go fan crazy!

Final Fantasy Gathering

Bleach Gathering

Look at what we found, Spartans!

Tetris, too freakin cool.

Naruto Gathering

Cute girl in pink but thanks to the guys, we have 200 pics of her. =/

Some Avatar cosplayers, I was pretty impressed….too bad we couldn’t find an Ang. =(

Nice nice, AX2007 was fun. Luckily for me, my sister picked up my four-day pass Thursday evening before the event where there were no lines. =) I only went three days: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I lent my badge to a friend for Friday. I was there mostly to hang with friends who flew in from out of state. The whole excursion ended up being concerts, the masquerade, exhibit hall, and a ton of walking around the entire building whenever we needed to get back to artist alley or the exhibit hall! It was so very different than the normal Anaheim Convention Center location like all the years before. Was nice for it to be a “bigger” venue, great toning legs!
BTW, the guy kneeling down as Captain Kuchiki Byakuya in your first Bleach picture is one of my friends. =) He was a final fantasy turk last year.
I got a pic of your friend? coolness! It was my sisters first trip to Cali so we had to set aside time for some sight-seeing as well otherwise we would have been there the whole day as she probably would have liked but her husband, not so much…he had to be dragged there every day of the convention. ahah, I wish we could have gone to the concert but we thought it had already started so we figured we missed it but we heard afterwards that it started late so we could have gone after all…wth, doh! This was my first anime convention and I loved it so maybe I’ll dress up next year! hehe
Opps, I’d made an error.
Me, my brother, and cousin attended on the 1st day of Anime Expo 2007. We got tickets to go see S.K.I.N and they were terrific. You’re right about one thing; the line was ridiculous as it reaches out to the parking lot. I am impress with the turn out on that day and did managed to witness a lot of marvelous cosplay, especially the Nintendo WII controller. Whoever that person was, it’d sure gave me a good laugh. =)
Ugh, the parking lot that was like 5 blocks away! lol…I was ok for the first and second hour but after I started getting sunburned around the third, my will was weeeaaak and I wanted to go shopping instead and get out of the sun but in the end we waited it out, 5 hours total! *&*^$%#@ ahah, good memories though and I like the noodle cup and thundercats cosplay the most! There was also a rogue from World of Warcraft which was awesome to see because I play (hehe) but didn’t see him again to get a picture when we finally made it in…
