Selling Samsung A990; Tech Toys: Nikon D40, BlackBerry Curve

The bf is getting ready to buy a new cell phone and change service provider so he’s looking at selling his old cell phone (which he’s only had for one year actually). The area that he lives in called “the boonies” (in the Lake Elsinore area) gives him little to no reception at home from his current service provider, Verizon, so he’s switching to T-mobile.

Quick mention, I really enjoy reading reviews from CNET.COM (has tech product reviews, technews, daily videos, free downloads, and podcasts) it has all the info you need to know along with images and videos for visual people, like moi.

I personally like this phone for it’s camera features, it takes pretty good pictures for a camera phone. Example: picture taken at the hospital when my bf new nephew was born. =)

MY new Toy of interest: Nikon D40

I mentioned to the bf that instead of splurging on an expensive cell phone we should instead buy this camera! It’s a great first dSLR for us, since we’re far from pros but have always enjoyed taking pictures and could definitely benefit from having one. There’s been a lot of positive feedback after reading more about it so we’re waiting to see if we can get any good deals on it on Black Friday, I’m crossing my fingers that there might be!

Ken Rockwell, a photographer, has a pretty nice website and typically prefers the nikon d40 to shoot with. He has tons of photos so if you’re a beginner like me and would like to preview images taken by the nikon d40 then check out this page.

“My D40 is too much fun. I own all sorts of serious cameras like the Canon 5D, Nikon D200, D80 and D70, but my D40, with its weightless 18-55mm lens and SB-400 flash, is what I grab most of the time as of May 2007 when I just want to make good photos easily. It works great with my other lenses like my Nikon 18-200mm VR” -kenrockwell.com

Samsung has the best camera phones hands down, but they have the worst reception anywhere! I just switched to T-Mobile too, which is great down here, but not so great when I visit my Parents.

That Nikon looks awesome. If you do get it, be sure to put it to use, especially now that you have this website!! ^_^

Ty is using the T-mobile hotspot @home and it works great; he’s been using the internet more on his phone then the computer, the geek! I’ve been taking the camera everywhere I go, it doesn’t leave my side except for bathroom breaks. lol
