The Huntington Desert Garden
A few pictures from the Desert Garden at the Huntington. There were so many varieties of cacti and succulent plants, I found myself admiring their unconventional beauty and unique qualities.
Take for instance, this delightful cactus…
“Hairy over here”

I honestly wouldn’t mind having a few of these plants in the front yard. That way people wouldn’t feel compelled to trample on the yard unless they were in search of a cheap form of acupuncture.

It felt as though I were looking at an underwater scene in this area because the Mammillarias reminded me of little sea urchins.

I like how this picture turned out; the blending of colors in the background is almost artistic in a way.

This was our first stop on the tour and it was but a small taste of the awesome sights the Huntington has in store for it’s visitors. I could have easily spent another 3 hours there….if I had been wearing different shoes that is!! Breaking in new shoes is just so not worth it sometimes!
