Charity fashion show; the gift of giving

After being stored away for sometime now, my costume design finally got to see the light of day once more!

I have to say, the design was mine but most of the sewing was left to someone with skillful hands. You can definitely tell where I put forth my sewing efforts though, BIG difference. When it comes to sewing, I’m like a kitten with a ball of yarn, expect a tangled mess to ensue. =/

Last year my sister May held her first charity event and fashion show. It was super exciting for me personally because I helped to coordinate the fashion show and my beautiful sister Lori wore my design in it. I love my crazy family, somehow we always manage to not kill each other…..but just barely, lol, you with siblings know what I’m talking about!

Anyways, her second charity event took place a week ago so here are a few pictures from the fashion show.

Cute top and model!

My sister mentioned she had some garments made but I’m not sure which ones are hers. Maybe she’ll stop by and shed some light?

The make-up artists did a great job! I’m loving all the colorful and fanciful looks.

Wow, I wish I could see more details (from the bottom not the top, you pervs! ahah) but this dress is a showstopper!

What was the charity event held for you ask?

Our goal will be to gather as many donated toys and either gently used or new clothing as possible to ship overseas to our family and friends in Laos. There are numerous charities and churches here that gather goods and clothing year round to help the needy but many do not send items internationally. This may be due to the cost of shipment. However, I believe that by working together, we can not only gather the goods our families need, but from the proceeds of the event, we’ll also have the means to clean them, purchase packing materials and pay for shipment to our families in Laos.

Hello! They are quite lovely but I can only take credit for the first one. =d Designing takes a lot more work than I thought but the end result is always worth it!

Some people don’t like over-the-top make-up and themes for fashion shows but I’ve always found it way more interesting that way! =D

    Hope you’re doing well!
