Jo Ann fabrics is my new weekend hangout

This past weekend we decided to stop at Jo Ann fabrics to buy some fabric to use in photo shoots. I was only interested in buying some tulle (love the stuff ) but this ruffly fabric grabbed my attention. Actually, it was pretty much handed to me by a friend since I was busy daydreaming about tulle and not noticing much else. =/
The inspiration,

“Who needs real flowers”
Look at these great bouquets, snip off the loose threads and they’re good to go!

Hydrangea, how I love thee.

I saw this groovy sewing box, I didn’t get it though since, well,
I can’t sew. =/

Another interesting but completely useless find.

YIKES Kay! I was touching that same white ruffle fabric about 20 minutes ago at JoAnn’s!!!…muahahhaha I stood there in the red tag isle trying to drum up a good enough reason to buy it but didn’t so I out it back….=(
i want a tutu!
wow that wedding dress is to die for!! i love going to fabric stores just to peruse…..not that i can actually make anything. do you sew?
Gawd…makes me want to do my wedding all over again…
The photos are lovely - great colors. What are you shooting with? I just purchased the Sony Alpha 350, and I’m eager to find subjects. I shoot mostly wildlife and musicians, which I guess some might consider the same thing.
I like Joann fabrics as well but I prefer Hobby Lobby. They have the best selection of silk florals for such a reasonably great price. I sometimes buy fabric just for the sake of having them and I enjoy the feel of some fabric over others. I’m weird.
I love that place!
lol, I passed it over since I thought it was just another plain white fabric but when Sue pulled it out and I saw the ruffles…”you had me at hello!”
Me too! …but I would soo not look cute in it and plus I would never be caught dead in a leotard. =d
lol, I’m in the same boat! I’d love to learn though. My uncle is a tailor and I like to sit and watch sometimes….not a very effective way of learning but it’s a start I guess, inspiration is a great motivation is my excuse. =D
I so wish I could wear the frilliest dress with a long train of ruffles and tulle but I know that’s not going to look right dragging behind my petite little frame. =*(
Why thank you! We have a Nikon D40…our first SLR so it’s very exciting for me to say the least since I’ve been a camera-whore since before that phrase was coined. =p Do you post your photos on the web? I’d love to see them. =D
I like Hobby Lobby too but I don’t think there is one here in Cali, darn! I can totally relate on frivolous buys, I have peculiar tastes as well…for instance shiny fabrics catch my attention first and even though I have no use for them I’ll buy them just because they’re pretty to look at. =/
I had a long wait for the cutting table but I didn’t even mind because there were so many things to keep me occupied in the meantime! =d
hey! that last picture u have there of the peacock feathers reminds me of a picture i took in a store while i was in chinatown in chicago that i put in my photos on my myspace
heheeh… i like it!

I considered the Nikon D60, but since I was used to a Sony, I stuck with Sony…for now.
Why, yes…I do. You can find them here: www.animaladvocate.net/muggingoc/ and at www.flickr.com/muggingovercoffee
