A yard full of roses

A landscaping favorite.

Iceberg roses are beautiful when they are just blooming and in cool weather they turn from stark white to blushing pink, that was a delightful surprise! It’s a good thing they don’t need a lot of tending to since I haven’t a green thumb like my mother, who can nurture and grow most everything.

I took these pictures back in February.

These next two I took just recently, they are the same roses. They’re very pretty by themselves or bunched up in clusters and because they are such beauties, we used them in Sue’s photo shoot!

For the front yard we have Bolero rose bushes. They have one of the strongest fragrances I have ever smelled, the scent reminds me of lychee fruits…mmm, very sweet and intoxicating.

When they bloom, they resemble mini-peonies and I love peonies! We use to have tons of peony bushes growing in our yard when I was young and we always ended up in there when we would take pictures so not only are the flowers beautiful to look at but they bring back fond memories as well -except for the planting part, that is. It was a grueling task mainly because we had to do more clearing than actual planting. =/

Those two pink rose shots are just perfect. Great lighting, good clarity and nice DOF. Great job!
