Healthy alternative: Pita Pizza

This looked like such a delicious, healthy alternative that I wanted – no, needed – to post so I could have it for future reference. The ingredients are few and simple (ideal for my level of culinary know-how). I love pizza and couldn’t imagine giving it up so I’ll definitely be trying this out.

Ingredients

* Pita, 1 (54 grams)

* Canned tomatoes, whole peeled, no added salt, 1/4 cup (54 grams)

* Parmesan cheese, grated and shaved, 1 TB (15 mL)

* Arugula, 1 cup (12 grams)

* Extra virgin olive oil, 1/2 tsp (2.5 mL) -optional

* Pepper, freshly ground, pinch

    I don’t keep a journal of what I eat…I’ll usually plan ahead. But check this website out. It helps offer personalized eating plans on your body type from every food group.
