While I was away visiting my family, Babes decided he’d get a new toy to keep him company. He bought a Nikon D700! I was so intimidated by it when I first laid eyes on it. And it weighs a ton! I was just thinking about how I should start lifting dumbells to build strength and muscle but then I figured a day out shooting with this baby would do the trick just as well. I sold my D40 (*tears, you will be missed) since I will be using our D90 from now on.
I planned on taking loads of pictures in WI to take advantage of the willing (and unwilling) family members who wanted some camera time, and while I totally did (omg, so many pictures to go through!), something I realized was just as important as good lighting was having a decent background/backdrop. For some gawd awful reason I forgot how much work it takes to photoshop out ugly backgrounds. Then of course the pictures come out looking…well, photoshopped. =/ I really should have put more thought into creating a nice backdrop, so consider it a lesson learned!
There are a lot more pictures to post so stay tuned. =)

omg… you went back home! will you be going back again soon? I might be visiting during Labor day weekend.
as always, can’t wait to see the pictures!! ^_^
Hi Grace!
Yes, finally! Family is so important to me and I miss seeing them more often. =( Me and Ty are trying to save up for some big things so I doubt we’ll be taking any more trips this year but in case things change, I will definitely let you know. I have been dying to see your cute little girl ever since I first laid eyes on her!

Hi Mai Yia,
Thanks! Aww, I miss that little girl so much. =) Panhia and Yengka were so fun to photograph, definitely check back for their photos. I took so many pictures while I was there that now I have a workload of them to postprocess but it’s a good learning experience for me for future business opportunities. =d
