Crystal Cove, CA: Beach photos with my sister

Recently, my sister from Portland came down with her family to get out of the dreary Portland rain. What best way to experience Southern California than to enjoy the sunshine at the beach, even if it’s in the dead of winter! It was another opportunity for me to snap a few family pics of them. Mai, Evelyn, Eric, Brandon and Judy… I hope you guys had as much as I did. =) Here are some of the shots below!

Geeky stuff: Here is another example why I love speedlights.. they are so portable it makes on-location shooting so much easier. Add two of them together and you can easily use them in broad daylight to overpower the sun. Also remember to use the sun to your advantage, it makes an excellent back/edge light.

I just can’t imagine winter without snow; it would be too wierd for me (being a Minnesota girl). Lovely pictures as always.
