I went to China (didn’t get to visit Hong Kong though) a few months ago and was )( close to having a dress custom made but went instead with 2 pairs of slacks (I hate being practical sometimes), a dress jacket, and a coat which I will absolutely despise til the day I die. Call me picky but when I bend my arms I don’t want the short sleeved shirt I’m wearing underneath to show. The damn coat’s sleeves were up to my elbows people! Do you know how dry an elbow can get when exposed to the cold? Yes, I do. Thanks. I curse all measuring-retarded tailors of the world! *big breathe* aaaah, it’s good to finally get that out. Why didn’t I just stick to a useless but pretty dress?! At least length wouldn’t matter as much…the shorter it is, the longer my legs will appear. See, can’t really go wrong there. Alright, back to the subject at hand and sorry about that my-coat-can-go-to-hell spasm.
Astonishiiiiing. That’s how I would describe some of the creations during Hong Kong Fashion Week! These gowns/costumes reminded me of the movie Beauty and the Beast where ordinary objects came to life…

{Designer Guo Pei of China} My first impression was that the bottom portion resembled patterns you might see when looking through a kaleidoscope. I loved the multidimensional feel and how light reflected off it beautifully. Shoes Almighty! To be able to walk in those shoes is a miracle alone!

I loved the inspiration behind this! This takes “put out the fine China” to a whole new level. And that vase/fan combo headpiece is crazy awesome! If she were made into a China Doll, I would so buy her!

Honestly, if I were a model, I would intentionally break a leg so as not to accidentally break my leg walking on the runway in these shoes. = / The s/o thinks this outfit looks money…literally like rolled up bills. ahahah, he has such a silly imagination. =) Aside from that comical visual, I think green and purple are nice complimentary colors. EEks, I can’t contain my girlish excitement over the dramatic eye make-up, is niiice!

They sure went all out on accessorizing but every piece looks so exquisite. I have no complaints. I’m busy, how do you say, eating all the delicious details with my eyes.

I would have loved to see more of this dress, especially the front since it looks so diva-esque. I could picture Diana Ross and her wild mane in this. I could see Elvis in the jumpsuit….maybe not.

{Designer Goji Lin} Although I’m a big fan of long sweeping gowns, the white smock with the black floral appliques is just too cute!

{Designer William Tang} Omg, I loved his collection! I can understand why some celebrities stick to the same designer for every appearances! I loved all his casual wear, especially the blue jacket over the printed dress…yes, I will dream about you tonight. =)

You guys were at the fashion show? I’m jealous. Hehe.
I’m a fan of the red outfit. B-E-A-U-TIFUL.
Daaannngg….. look at those shoes on the second set of pictures!! I’d be scared to wear that down the catwalk, LOL. You know, when I think of a fashion shows, I think of designs that would actually be “wearable” so it boggles my mind when I see those artistic-funky-too many details type of outfits. Where would one actually wears those to? The red dress at the end is beautiful.
Woooooooow those first ones are AMAAAAAAAAAAZING xD
love the gold filigree-esque designs and other intricate patterns of those first few sets. simply amazing AND inspiring. will definitely have to keep some of those photos for future art project ideas.
