Grand Canyon snapshots

While the rest of the guys stayed in Las Vegas, Kay and I decided to make the drive up to the Grand Canyon. I know huh? What were they thinking, not wanting to see the Grand Canyon!!? Although we had been there before, Kay and I were pretty excited to walk on the newly built Sky Walk, a glass platform looking down onto the canyon. Of course, we also brought along some of our “gear” to hopefully capture better photos (those photos coming soon). For now, we’ll share just the snapshots taken while freezing our butts off up there (snow, 40 degrees.. but felt like 20s with the wind chill).

Click through for more photos… and our unexpected letdown.

What was the letdown? We were all excited to see the Sky walk… drove 400+ miles to the Grand Canyon South Rim only to find that the new Sky Walk was 250 miles west at an Indian reservation somewhere. What a bummer huh? I guess we could have researched it better. Oh well, we still made the best of it. The Grand Canyon is such a breathtaking place, how could you not enjoy the incredible view. It is truly a natural wonder of the world. Below are some of our snapshots, hope you guys enjoy them.

I bet it’s just absolutely breathtaking there. It’s definitely one of the spots on my “go visit in this lifetime” list. I didn’t know it snowed in the Grand Canyon. I always thought it was hot and sunny there year-round. LOL! Shows how much I know. Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Omgosh! I’m so jealous. I vow I *will* go there one day (soon) and I *will* take that 9-hr trek all the way down to the Phantom Ranch and then trek my arse all the way back up! Hurry, I want to see more!

Did you guys see that HUGE sign while driving back to Vegas about the sky walk? It also requires a 10 mile drive on a bumpy dirt road, so don’t take a compact car … you might not make it. Plus, it cost money to enter the Reservation.

The Grand Canyon looks awesome with some snow. I was there during the heat of the summer. =)

What a breath taking view! I love those 2 photos of you each snapped jumping up in the air. Looks fun! I got a little tickled-scared actually since it looks like you’re at the edge of a cliff. ^_^

We had the most fun with those jump snapshots. Everyone was looking at us like we were crazy. ;p There was one jump where I landed kind of wobbly… all the old ladies gasped so loudly you could hear the air suck in. What can you say? The Grand Canyon is breathtaking in so many ways… naturally by itself and then simulated by dare devil kids-at-heart like us!
