Family portrait: MK’s backyard shoot

MK’s family was so much fun to shoot. Their daughter was so charming and their little guy was just awesome. He loved fooling around with our gadgets (always wanted to see the preview as we snapped away) and he knew all the street fighter moves! C’mon what more could we have asked for huh?

Sorry for the long wait, click through for more photos =)

Our original location was a nearby park but we couldn’t shoot there because of strict permit issues. We were lucky enough to have their Aunt allow us to use her backyard… and once we got there? wow we quickly forgot about the park. There was so much texture in her beautiful backyard. With plenty of shade, a natural creek, log chips and gravel… we had the perfect backdrop for our family portrait session. We certainly didn’t have these kinds of backyards back when we were still in Southern California.

Anyways, here are the photos below… MK if you are reading this, thanks for letting us share that afternoon with your family, you guys were such a joy to photograph. =)

    you guys would like a setting like this one! hahah =P I love the photos! Although, I do have to say one thing…the photo of the little boy kissing MK (4th picture from the bottom), I would have liked it if the girl wasnt in the background. Yes, she’s blurred out…but it kinda distracts from the main focus of the two. But I do love the picture! =D Also, wheres all the family group photos? Theres only two shots of all four of them together!! haha =P Keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing the others…HURRY UP! hahah

    @Jenny
    You’ll love the sb600. Double check your sb600 to be sure it is not in wireless mode. Once it is on regular mode, you should be able to just slide it into the hotshoe and it will work as expected. Hope this helps.

    Thanks again Kay and Ty! You guys did an awesome job. Both your relaxed personalities made the shoot so much fun and enjoyable :-)

    ***For anyone else who’s reading this, if you ever get a chance to shoot with these two, definitely take advantage of it! You won’t be disappointed!
