Here’s their wedding day story, as told by a bazillion photos ;p We apologize ahead of time for killing your scroll bar.

The day started bright and early; I love this part of the day because it often shows the intimate relationship shared between friends and family.

Finishing touches on hair and make-up…Erica was absolutely gorgeous!

With everyone ready we headed out to a nearby park for the fun informal formals ;p. I always love the warm reaction the bridal party gets from local joggers and bikers. And look what we found! A willow tree that provided the perfect backdrop for the couple.

Erica and Sebastien exchanged their vows at St. Pius X, the family’s long time parish.

The wedding reception was held at the beautiful Tiffany Center in downtown Portland,OR. We captured some of our favorite photos in the foyer and walkway in front of the venue. The playfulness of the bridal party made the simple street side photos come alive with joy and merriment.

It’s always neat seeing our name tags on wedding tables! BTW, look below for a friendly reminder for those of you who aren’t quite sure which one of us is the “Pretty” and the “Geeky”. =p *dodge*

After all the heartfelt toasts and key moments, everyone jumped on the dance floor and got the party started!

There was also a story to Mylee’s dress submission, and it made this session even more rewarding for us. During her wedding, Mylee wasn’t able to get creative portraits in her dress! With a stunning dress like hers, we weren’t about to let go the opportunity to right this wrong! ;p

Loving the train of this dress, isn’t it gorgeous?! And her bouquet of red roses was lovely and added a nice touch of color.

Mylee was pretty laid-back and very accommodating, she didn’t even cringe at all when we asked her to lay down on the ground in her pristine white dress! She really was a trooper throughout the whole shoot and it was quite chilly out that day as well so lots of love to her for braving the cold and our many odd requests. =)

Nearby our grassy field was a stretch of majestic oak trees. The setting sun provided the perfect dramatic light.

Hlee and Bee already had a professional photo/video team there, but did that keep us from snapping away? Hah! Would emo teenage girls give up a chance to be bitten by a vampire? Of course not =) With care and consideration to stay out of their frames, we quietly snapped away. Here are the rest of the candid photos of that day.

While the other cake was being cut, we sneaked in a few detail photos of the display cake. We also managed to quietly pull a bridesmaid away for a quick snapshot of her bouquet.

Kay was back there somewhere for the bouquet toss. You can see the side of her face if you look carefully.

And now… the mish-mash Table 10 that had the most fun of the night! In her thoughtfulness, Hlee managed to squeeze Kay and I to a table mostly full of people from Oregon! Was that nice of her or what?

We might have been the rowdiest table of the afternoon. It’s always fun meeting such friendly people. Oh, I shouldn’t forget to mention that we also had the Real Miss Hmong USA in our very table too! Wow, how lucky was that huh? I told you Table 10 was awesome.

The afternoon was full of laughter and cheers. Especially when the best man was toasting the newly weds.

The Father of the Bride and Mother of the Groom dances were very heart felt. Let’s just say it suddenly got a bit dusty in the courtyard… people’s eyes were getting quite watery.

Get ready for the mega post you’ve all been asking for =p

The plan of that morning was for myself to capture the guys getting ready; while Kay would capture the ladies. Let’s just say it was less hectic in the gentlemen’s quarter. =)

With a few hours to spare before lunch… we took the bridal party out for their photoshoot. Where was the destination? In true PrettyGeeky fashion, we headed for the wilderness and fed the whole bridal party to the mosquitoes! lol

I asked Grace to toss him the bouquet… and out of nowhere I got these captures. I can tell they will have lot’s of fun together.

The Korean drama / grandparent’s / vintage pose. Hmmm was I able to pull it off?

Here are the very patient bridesmaids (yes all 8 of them) in all their terracotta glory.

The ceremony started off light hearted… with a Coldplay entrance song!

…. then came the personalized vows; which quickly turned the ceremony into a tear-jerker. -tissue anyone? it’s getting dusty in here-

Why is it always the groom who gets the involuntary first taste of the cake?
At least it was chocolate cake.. mmmmm.

Grace and Kmong… thanks for letting us take part in your wonderful cherished wedding day. May all your wishes and dreams come true together…. Love you guys!

But before that, we just wanted to thank those of you who reached out to us for photoshoots. The first half of our mid-west swing has been very busy… but also very rewarding. Meeting some of you incredible people out there has been so much fun. Thank you Wisconsin… now off to Minnesota!

We had planned the shoot a few weeks in advance… but apparently we brought the rain with us from Portland. Do you know what’s worst than rescheduling due to rain? Shooting the next day in humid muggy weather… yup, the perfect conditions for an awakening of blood thirsty mosquitoes. Susan was a trooper; she wasn’t afraid of getting a little dirty, some buzzing insects didn’t scare her… and to top all of that, she did this photoshoot in between her work shift! Is she awesome or what?

It’s amazing what you can find in a little neighborhood park. A few days before the shoot, we went out to scope the park and found this wonderful nature trail. This hidden jewel was tucked away towards the back of the park. It was a section of the trail with tall trees and a canopy overhead that created a natural tunnel perfect for our kind of photographs. Yays!

I must also note that I am now a firm believer in Coleman 100% DEET bug repellent. We picked it up at the local Wal-mart, it worked wonders during the shoot. With the bug repellent applied, you could hear the buzzing, you could see them approaching… but you could also see them bust a U-turn away from your bare skin. Must have sucked being a mosquito… ;p
