Zoom, zoom… off to dreamland. Baby Matthew was dozing in and out of sleep as we were snapping away.

Why are babies so adorable? Because they are so tiny of course! Here are several detail shots of all his little parts (well most of them) ;p. He even gave the camera a little smile.

Poor little one kept working herself into exhaustion trying to crawl up the pillow. What awaited up atop the pillow?… the camera of course! Yay for the ever so tough baby to camera eye-contact.

The best part of taking photos with babies?… they don’t ever have fake cheesy smiles, every face is a real one lol.

Anabelle slowly worked herself to sleep… and a perfect moment was captured when momma stepped into frame.

The calm cool afternoon, as translated by the negative space; another one of my favs from this shoot.

Upon waking up, she found herself transformed into a frog princess! Doesn’t it seem like she could just jump out at you in a whim?

Precious little fingers and toes!

This session was mainly shot with the Nikon 35mm/f2.0 lens and the Tamron 28-75mm/f2.8. The 35mm works great with kids and babies, because you can get up close and personal. The Tamron is great because it doubles as a macro lens, which means you can get super close and still have the ability to grab focus (most non-macro lenses require at least 1.5 feet of separation from you and the subject).

He fell into this position all by himself, what a natural! It’s my favorite photo of baby Jonathan from this weekend. I can’t believe he’s walking already.  He turns one year in another month; how time flies when you’re busy at play.^^
