But before that, we just wanted to thank those of you who reached out to us for photoshoots. The first half of our mid-west swing has been very busy… but also very rewarding. Meeting some of you incredible people out there has been so much fun. Thank you Wisconsin… now off to Minnesota!

We had planned the shoot a few weeks in advance… but apparently we brought the rain with us from Portland. Do you know what’s worst than rescheduling due to rain? Shooting the next day in humid muggy weather… yup, the perfect conditions for an awakening of blood thirsty mosquitoes. Susan was a trooper; she wasn’t afraid of getting a little dirty, some buzzing insects didn’t scare her… and to top all of that, she did this photoshoot in between her work shift! Is she awesome or what?

It’s amazing what you can find in a little neighborhood park. A few days before the shoot, we went out to scope the park and found this wonderful nature trail. This hidden jewel was tucked away towards the back of the park. It was a section of the trail with tall trees and a canopy overhead that created a natural tunnel perfect for our kind of photographs. Yays!

I must also note that I am now a firm believer in Coleman 100% DEET bug repellent. We picked it up at the local Wal-mart, it worked wonders during the shoot. With the bug repellent applied, you could hear the buzzing, you could see them approaching… but you could also see them bust a U-turn away from your bare skin. Must have sucked being a mosquito… ;p

Last but not least, a special thank you to P-Unit P.Lee for assisting during this shoot. I hope this was both fun and educational for you =).

These wedding photos we took of Kristy and Sue were long overdue ladies! ahaha, you both looked breathtakingly beautiful…and also, thanks, I looked like a mess next to the two of you! =d Of course, all my happy visions of white and tulle couldn’t have been possible without the help of our dear friends and newlyweds, Doan and Alice. These were Alice’s wedding gowns from their June wedding (>click here< for pics!) and she has been kind enough to lend them to me and also to give one away for an upcoming contest we will be having here on our blog! The details of the contest will be given out soon so check back!

Wedded Bliss!

It’s going to be a year full of weddings and I couldn’t be more excited! (I am an avid fan of “Whose Wedding is it Anyways?“) This past weekend we attended the beautiful wedding of Hieu and Elaine. I will be posting a few pictures from their wedding ceremony soon but for now you can view some pics from the reception gallery.

This was the first time I used our home-made foam bounce card. I’m liking how the pictures turned out, considering it costs only $2 in materials =p. Anyways, check out the gallery below!

Before I start gushing about weddings, if you haven’t noticed I’ve been doing a few backpostings to catch you all up on some of the interesting events of this past year for me so go read them! After this post I’ll be able to update you on current events and such.=)

On this joyous day I was able to attend my bf’s brother’s wedding with his long time girlfriend. It was no surprise that the two would eventually end up tying the knot but it really hit me, on their wedding day, that these two people were giving themselves to each other for the rest of their lives…cliche as it is to say, it was a beautiful thing!

(crap…I’m starving and my mind is blank; I need some food for thought, I’ll be right back. *edit: much better, my stomach is hanging over my pants now, ugh!)

I love weddings; from the walk down the aisle, to wedding dress, to the table arrangements and food, I love all the little details that go into wedding planning. OK ok…I’ll post in a future blog about this little obsession…

It was cool getting to see Kate’s family…getting to see a person’s roots and where they come from, very interesting. The church ceremony was just as beautiful as I had expected it to be but when I saw her walking down the aisle, I was awe-struck by how beautiful she looked in her wedding dress; the shape was very flattering on her and the design and beading were gorgeous. Props to the bride for keeping it elegant and not too frou frou.

One of my favorite things about weddings is getting to listen to the exchange of vows.
