We just bought a mini camcorder and I can’t wait to use it on trips and family events! I’ll also be able to post my videos here in the future, yay!

Lighting options
I’ve been looking at some lighting options so for those who are new to photography (like myself), soak up some knowledge with me. The web is such a wonderful teacher *sniffles.

Thumbs up to my own personal handyman
One of the many things I love about my boyfriend is that he enjoys watching movies with me. We recently went to watch 27 Dresses together and there was no begging from either side! He can totally get into romantic dramas and comedies.
Thankfully, he hasn’t cried during any of them but he does whisper sweet nothings to me afterwards….always a plus and which is why I take him to see so many! ahah
Since we love watching movies together (and because he needed another tech toy to play with) he decided to get a projector. At first I was disgusted his bedroom was turning into more of an entertainment center…but after realizing this could work to my advantage-romantic movies galore-I was all for it.

I think the blood elf looks better in the t-shirt than I would but that’s just a really really unfair comparison…lol, I think some of the t-shirts at Jinx Clothing Company are pretty awesome especially since they include pics of normal gaming nerdettes wearing them! I should see if I can get my picture in there! haha! And just in case you didn’t notice, check out the pretty girl gamers…although too much WoW does not do a body good, it’s all proven here in the SouthPark World of Warcraft episode! ahahahahah *ahem, excuse me, but yeah it’s that funny. =p

New Flash unit is cool
We ordered the SB-400 flash unit for our Nikon and it arrived today! B&H is a good place to buy imaging products and they usually have the best deals. So we’ve been having fun with the flash unit and took tons of pictures…of my silly expressions mostly since we were using the 55-200 zoom lens. You can definitely see a difference between using the regular flash and the fill flash, I’ll post some pictures tomorrow. We haven’t shot any outdoors pics yet but rest assured we are soo on top of it…maybe at the beach this weekend!

My first test “photo shoot” with the Nikon D40

I had previously mentioned (in this post) that me and the bf were looking into buying our first dslr and well, we went for it! $500 plus dollars so I guess you could say we are proud owners of our new “baby,” it’s goes everywhere we go. ahah
I’m slowly learning the ins and outs of how to use the camera to it’s full potential, damn, I hate reading lengthy manuals but what’s cool is we get free classes with the deal so I’m looking forward to getting some hands-on professional help which I’m sure will be very usual.
My first 2 subjects were my boyfriends nephews and let me tell you kids are not easy to persuade to ‘look pretty’ or in their case, handsome, but eventually with a little sweet talking and then a few idle threats, they warmed up to it! They even went to the bathroom to fix their own hair…very cute and not entirely unexpected since they’ve been raised around their vain uncle, aka my rockstar, aka the annoying boyfriend. haha! So anyways the bf had programed the camera setting on the mode I wanted but I forgot to turn the flash on…idiot me, ah well, with a little help from photo shop I’m pretty happy with how the pictures turned out and how darling are my bf’s nephews!!!

World of Warcraft
Let me begin by saying that World of Warcraft (or WoW) and I did not meet on friendly terms. I didn’t even know what it was nor did I want to and I sure as heck didn’t want my bf to play it 24/7 as he was prone to do when he first began playing the game about two years ago but that all changed last year when WoW came out with a new breed of characters in their game, one of which were blood elves!
